Five men- Adewale Taoreed, Fatai Abogunde, Olufemi Ojatunwase, Lucky
Chikezie, Akeem Isah- have been remanded in the Ikoyi prison for the
alleged murder of a 20-year-old man, Dayo Arogundade.
The men were arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court on two counts of murder.
They were said to have stabbed the deceased with a broken bottle. Arogundade reportedly bled to death after the attack. The incident happened at Adeleye Street, Iganmu, Lagos State.
The charge read, “That you, Adewale Taoreed, Fatai Abogunde, Olufemi Ojatunwase, Lucky Chikezie, Akeem Isah (aka Akoi Allah), and others at large, on November 1, 2013 at 9.30pm at Adeleye Street, Sari Iganmu Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit; murder.
“That you did unlawfully kill one Dayo Arogundade, aged 20 years, by stabbing him with a broken bottle on his head.”
The offence was said to be punishable under sections 231 and 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.
The magistrate, Mr. K.O Ogundare, remanded the suspects in the Ikoyi Prison pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.
