Man, 20, remanded for killing teenager with stick

A 20-year-old man, Adams Ashanaogun, has been ordered to be remanded
in prison by an Ebute Meta Magistrate's Court for allegedly killing
one Ahmed Mufutau, 18, by hitting him with stick on the head.

The incident was said to have happened at Ogunmodede Senior College in
the Epe area of Lagos.

The Investigating Police Officer, Corporal Opara Oliver, told the
court that the defendant had gone to the school to visit his younger
brother when he had a fight with the deceased.

He said, "The defendant went to the school in the early hours of
November 28, 2013. He said he went there to visit his younger brother
who was a student of the school.
"On the way, he met the deceased, who said he was an ex-student of the
school and queried him on his mission within the school premises.
"This led to a fight between them. Then Ashanaogun went to pick a
stick, which he hit on the head of Mufutau.
"He was rushed to the hospital, where he died."
