Ex-Kaduna PDP chairman, commissioners, 70 others defect to APC

Former Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji
Yaro Makama, amongst others on Tuesdaydefected to the All Progressives
Congress in the state.

Others that defected with the former PDP chairman were
ex-commissioners in both the administrations of Senator Ahmed Makarfi
and the late Patrick Yakowa, and 70 other party members in the state.

The late Yakowa's Campaign Director-General during the 2011 elections,
Ambassador Sule Buba, and former Chairman of Kaduna South Local
Government Area, Alhaji Auwal Tafoki, were among the top party men
that moved to the main opposition party.

They(defectors) were received by the APC Interim Chairman in the state
and former INEC Secretary, Hakeem Baba- Ahmed at a guest house at
Malali GRA , Kaduna.
At the gathering, the former PDP chairman in the state said injustice
in PDP forced them to leave the party to join the APC.

Describing the gale of defection in the country as a political
revolution, saying the defectors would not "wait to be consumed by
it."
He said, "We cannot wait to be consumed by the political revolution
that is happening in this country. The injustice in PDP is one reason
why we left the party to the APC. As you can see most of the people
here are PDP members that have played a great role in its development.

"We cannot wait in a party that cannot provide infrastructure to
people of the state. This is why we want those in the PDP to know that
I hardly join a party that I know will not deliver. So by 2015 APC
will win elections in Kaduna."
